Fans of the dramality show The Only Way is Essex have been thrilled by pictures sneaked from the set of the series 4 finale which show TOWIE stars James ‘Arg’ Argent and James ‘Diags’ Bennewith in marvellous medieval costumes for what promises to be a spectacular costume party denouement. It is also rumoured that the finale may feature a Mario Falcone proposal and a fight between Ricky Rayment and Joey Essex but Arg and Diags’ stunning costumes certainly merit closer inspections for fancy dress fans.
Arg looks a little bit like an oversized altar-boy in his medieval costume which features a luxuriant royal blue velvet apron with gold brocade detailing around the edges, a stunning gold heraldic cross on the chest and wonderful white ruffled collar and matching lacy white cuffs. However, his black culottes and white socks are matched rather incongruously with > a pair of military style boots. Meanwhile, Diags has opted for a green version of the same outfit, which features the striking gold cross on the chest and side panels of the velour apron, the same gold brocade detailing and ruffled white undershirt. He has also opted for black culottes with white socks but seems to have chosen his footwear more carefully as although it is impossible to recognise the exact style of shoes he has opted for from the photograph, they are at least flat and sleek and thus blend far better with the entire ensemble. Of course, perhaps we should give Arg the benefit of the doubt as he seems to have been snapped leaving his car upon arrival on set, so perhaps a change of footwear can be witnessed in the actual episode!
If you want to dress in magnificent medieval style like these elegant Essex gentlemen, then there are plenty of appropriate fancy dress costumes to choose from. For example, if you want to attract the attention of a fair maiden, then you should definitely opt for a classic Prince Charming costume which includes a blue velveteen shirt with gold brocade trim and authentic black and gold detailing on the collar and cuffs, a matching pair of blue velveteen trousers and a black faux leather belt with gold buckle. Add a regal crown and some black boot tops and you’re ready to rescue any damsels in distress at your medieval fancy dress ball! Meanwhile, fans of Diags’ green ensemble might like to opt for a green medieval courtly costume which features a long green jacket with tails and beautiful gold brocade collar and trim, a green waist sash with gold detailing, a pair of green velvet trousers and some brown faux fur boot tops. A noble green and gold hat tops off this costume and will make any wearer fell like the lord of the manor! Meanwhile, medieval knight, monk and executioner costumes are also appropriate and female fans of the age of chivalry can opt for gothic princess costumes with flowing robes or lovely silver lady of the lake costumes.
The only way for medieval fancy dress success is opting for one of these classic costumes!
